Ms. Solomon has been a leader in her profession and has devoted
her practice to matrimonial, custody, other related family law
matters and adoption. She has been designated by the Supreme Court
of New Jersey as a Certified Matrimonial Attorney and has been
certified as an Economic Mediator by the Administrative Office
of the Courts. Ms. Solomon is a member of the Executive Committees
of the Family Law Section of both the New Jersey State Bar Association
and the Essex County Bar Association. Ms. Solomon was appointed
to the Committee on Character by the Supreme Court and served
until September 1994, and is a Master in the New Jersey Family
Law Inns of Court. She has served as a panelist for the Essex
County and Bergen County Early Settlement Panel program since
1987 and as a Court appointed economic mediator in Morris, Bergen
and Union Counties.
Ms. Solomon was the recipient of the New Jersey State Bar Association
Distinguished Legislative Award in 1993 for her work on the Adoption
Amendments. She founded and chaired the Adoption Subcommittee
of the Family Law Section for eleven years. She also founded and
chaired the Children’s Rights Committee. She is a member
of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, and has been certified
as an Adoption Mediator by the Academy. She was designated as
an Angel in Adoption by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption
Institute.
Ms. Solomon has written and taught extensively, and is a frequent
lecturer and author in family law, adoption and related matters.
She served on the New Jersey Lawyer Editorial Board and is a senior
editor of the New Jersey Family Lawyer, the official publication
of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section. She
has been a member of numerous other committees, including one
which promulgated specialty guidelines for the Board of Psychological
Examiners for use in custody and visitation evaluations.
Ms. Solomon’s practice focuses on complex matrimonial litigation,
custody issues, adoption, mediation and other family law related
matters.
Ms. Solomon received her undergraduate degree from Ohio State
University, Masters Degree from Columbia University, and graduated
cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. Ms. Solomon
has also completed a program of instruction for mediation at Harvard
Law School.
